40-Hour Professional Guardian Course

Course meets the requirements for becoming a Professional Guardian in the State of Florida and provides state authorized instruction and training as required under Florida Statute s. 744.2003. This class is a pre-requisite for the state examination.

This is a Live interactive class through the convenience of Zoom.

The course runs for 5 consecutive Saturdays from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM. No absences are allowed. Students must pass the in-course exam with a 70 or higher. Course instructors are former Magistrate Lewis Kimler, attorneys David Mangiero and Alex Cuello, and Professional Guardians Barbara Reiser and Carlos McDonald.

Cost: $450.00 [Registration fee refundable only if cancelled in writing 7-days before start date.]

The Zoom registration details for obtaining the Zoom link needed and course materials will be sent a week before the class commences. Please make sure you input your correct information when registering including your mailing address. The name you register with will be the name provided on your certificate upon passage of the course.

Summer Course commences Saturday, June 1, through following Saturdays concluding June 29.

Open enrollment for our 2024 Summer class begins Monday, May 20th, at NOON.

SPECIAL NOTE: GPDC has spearheaded the re-write and update of the current state training manual. The new manual is pending formal approval by officials in Tallahassee and will not be in place until after the summer. The current corresponding state examination, based on the currently used state manual, will continue to be used for testing through the rest of 2024.

Please make sure you have reviewed the Department of Elder Affairs (DOEA/OPPG) and the FL State Guardianship Association (FSGA) websites prior to registering to ensure becoming a Professional Guardian is right for you.
